| So... we got a house. It is lot of work! We painted one of the bathrooms and the family room so far. I don't want to get paint happy, but it really makes the house warmer with some paint! We love it though. We have a yard and a garage and a washer and dryer and a dishwasher.... the simply joys you have when you've gone 2 years without them! I hope to never take advantage of them. I always want to cherish them. We had our first mix up and it was with AEP so we are without electric for 24 hours. Stink. I'm at Michelle's so I can shower and clean up to celebrate Adam's step dad's 50th birthday tonight. I'm trying to relax for my last few days of vacation...... besides that... nothing new. What about you? | | |
| Lets just say I posted something....would anyone read it?

| I am tired of rain.... I would be OK with some snow now.

| Something I always look forward to, yet always hate is when people put Christmas lights on their trees in their yards. Now, I must explain...
See below:

Now minus the yard art, this house isn't decorated too too badly. I like the green tree on the right, the colorful bush and tree on the left. I don't agree with the nutcracker and snowmen, etc....but I can let that slide because they 1.don't have a big blow up snowglobe and 2. have their trees and bushes decorated nicely.
There's just something beautiful about the picture, again minus the yard art.
Now look at the two pictures below:

This is horrible! I will say in the first picture, the tree on the far right is ok, but there is no reason, for the other trees, to just throw lights up and see where they land and then light up the tree. There is no reason to go up and down on a tree, especially with purple lights. It just looks like a big jumbled up mess and I just do not see how when they look at their house they think, "yes, this makes it feel like Christmas."
I will say that if you or your family members decorates a tree in your yard like the previous two, well then I apologize if I hurt your feelings. As this is my blog, I don't like it and I wish you would stop! Use the lights to go around poles or your mailbox or even a bush - evenly....
Just an observance and annoyance with Christmas time. | | |
| There is something so good about Thanksgiving and turkey....
Ryan Barclay made a comment the other day about how as we get older, our favorite holiday changes from Christmas to Thanksgiving. I just love everything about the holiday season. I love why it is a holiday, I love the family, the food, the games, the conversations, the lack of conversations.....
It is just such a good time.
I always tend to remind myself around Thanksgiving of things for which I am thankful: sleeping in new contacts hugs cooking watching people enjoy food I've made mail honest friends when I allow myself to be "fun" according to Adam love never ending grace my mom telling me not once, but twice to be careful driving home good health exposure to people less fortunate humility
